Map illustrated endpapers, both different, front end paper: -- showing the lower half of England and the various towns, castles ect., of the Middle Ages, rear free end paper: -- showing the upper half of England with its various towns, castles etc., of the Middle Ages and the rear paste-down: -- showing a map of lower half of England and France and Flanders -- again showing the relevant towns etc., of interest in the the Middle Ages. The text is illustrated by three maps within the text. Green coloured cloth boards with metallic copper titles to the backstrip. A little rubbing to the backstrip edges and book corners. Browning and foxing to the textblock edges. age toning to the endpapers and to the internal text. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down Colour illustrated dustwrapper (wraparound) with red and black titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and slight creasing to the dustwrapper edges. Heavy browning to the backstrip. The result of insect activity can be seen to the rear dustwrapper panel. Heavy rubbing to the dustwrapper panels and staining is also present. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. " The second volume of Sir Arthur Bryant's Story of England covers the high middle age -- the century and more between the reigns of Edward I and Richard II." -- from the front fold over panel.
