About This Item

London: Horace Cox, 1908. Book. Fine. Cloth. First Edition. First Printinig. Royal octavo. Olive green cloth covered beveled boards with gilt title and cover decoration and gilt spine ditles. 228 pp. plus index and "exhaustive" bibliography. Very generously illustrated throughout with black and white drawings, woodblocks and historicall reproductions. A very uncommon history of pre-Industrial Revolution farmiing in England authored by a Fellow of the Linnean Society. This copy has very fresh cloth and sparkling gilt. Tight, square, unmarked (except for diminutive name at top corner of ffep) with clean unsoiled, unstained pages. Slight sign of damp at lower corner of first few pages which is barely noticeable. Despite the minor flaws noted, still a remarkably well-peserved and very attractive volume. Near Fine..
