Small hardcover has pebbled brown cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering and decorations. Front cover has central gold shield surrounded by small filigrees, with title in brown. Covers have beveled edges. Dark brown coated endpapers have some light spotting. Page edges colored red. Front hinge cracked, webbing showing, intact. Binding getting loose in a few places in the text, with sewing peeking at signature divisions. Corners and spine ends bumped and rubbed, with some fraying at tips and spine ends. Old prices in pencil on front free endpaper. Name in ink on first blank page after endpaper, dated 1873. Pages very lightly tanned at periphery but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 179 pages. No dust jacket. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
