Inscribed association copy of Miller's memoir, originally published in 1945.


Inscribed to Miller's Polish translator, Zygmunt Łanowski "who has experienced all the nightmares", in 1950. Łanowski (1911-1989) was a Polish translator of English and Nordic languages who translated Miller's The Smile at the Foot of the Ladder (Uśmiech u stóp drabiny, 1964).
