About This Item

MP3 Audio CD. The Albert Gate Mystery brings about a new case for the barrister and hobby detective, Reginald Brett. From Sultan (foreign Prince?s collection) to London, there are fifty-one imperial diamonds to be art by experts in the Albert Gate mansion under the protection of the British government. Then one day, unfortunately, the Turkish officials were found dead in the mansion, and the diamonds were gone ? though strict measures were taken to protect those diamonds. Jack Talbot, a young secretary at the Foreign office who oversees this undertaking is suspected because he disappeared on the same evening without any track. Talbot?s friend, Lord Fairholme, who believes that the former is innocent seeks help from an amateur and notable detective, Reginald Brett.

This mystery leaves the readers asking as to why Jack Talbot, the foreign secretary vanished at the same time that the diamonds were lost. At his young age, he was able to murder the Turkish officials, alone? Where are the priceless jewels? Was the high ranking, young foreign secretary, a victim or the perpetrator? With Reginald Brett up on this case, can he solve this one?

In Brett?s determination to solve the quest, some of his friends offered him help. On his journeys and chases through some European countries, he encounters master criminals, a pretty French adventure seeker and lots of petty criminals.

It is obvious that Louis Tracy is a fan of Emile Gaboriau, the creator of the first deductionist detective LeCocq, who was the ingenuity for Sherlock Holmes. The author seems to try to imitate the French writer?s style because he frequently states Gaboriau and LeCocq.

This creation is quick paced, fast moving, action plus adventuresome. Tracy assured his readers that Brett is the greatest barrister detective of all time. This is a good read to everyone who enjoys action adventure stories.
