About This Item

Naples, Italy (presumably): no publisher, 1845. Approximately 9 1/2 x 8 1/4”; full pebble grained red morocco; covers lined and titled in gilt; all edges gilt. Excellent condition. This album consists of 18 aquatints of southern Italian life. Even had this not been titled so, it is clearly a Grand Tour souvenir, an expensive and beautiful object typical of what was available to the wealthy and privileged traveller of the day.
