New York & London: Macmillan, 1897. Hallam, Alfred's eldest son, inherited the title from his famous father, who was Queen Victoria's favorite poet. She made him Laureate after the death of Wordsworth. An interesting, detailed memoir, with many letters included. This is a Near Fine copy of the First Edition. Two volumes; 516 pages and 551 pages. Volume II is indexed and a page of publisher's adverts for its various editions of Tennysen's works. Green cloth bindings with gilt lettering on the spine. Very mildly bumped; a few scuffs on the covers, but withal a very nice and solid set. No dustjackets Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket.
