Philadelphia: E.L. Carey & A. Hart. Fair with no dust jacket. 1833. First American Edition. Hardcover. 205 pp + ads. by the "author of Sydenham" . Vol. II only, original edition NOT A REPRINT of this novel of manners. Brown cloth spine with original paper label is age darkened, bit worn at the tips. Buff paper over cardboard boards are bit worn and grubby. Interior hinges cracked, old library label, paper is foxed and generally worn, the publisher used paper that was very irregularly cut and the edges are bit crispy, some pages not separated, title page is missing top 1/4, everything above "Sydenham" . Aged but still readable and quite scarce in the original edition.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall .
