Portland, OR: Wendy Ice, Publisher, 2016. First edition thus, first printing . Hardcover. Fine/Fine. David Delamare. Deluxe Standard limited issue of the 150th anniversary edition. Signed in black ink on the title page by the widow of David Delamare, Wendy Ice, who was also publisher, editor, and designer. The book features 96 color illustrations. Thirty-four of the images by David Delamare are based upon traditional oil paintings. Sixty-two images are pencil drawings, later colored digitally by Delamare and Wendy Ice. The historically authentic text was carefully researched and discussed by scholar Selwyn H. Goodacre, Wendy Ice, and an international team of volunteer proofreaders. The innovative layout features at least one illustration on every page spread of the story and page breaks that are designed to facilitate reading aloud. 142 printed pages with 96 color illustrations on acid free paper. Bound in gray cloth with lettering and border stamped in gilt and with paper circular illustration of Alice pressed onto the front cover. A fine bright new copy within a fine example of the publisher's slipcase.

Synopsis

Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There , tell the story of a young girl in a fantasy world filled with peculiar, anthropomorphic creatures. The classic tale of literary nonsense takes the reader on an exploration of logic and absurdities. The Alice books — sometimes combined or referred to with the abbreviated title Alice in Wonderland — have been translated into at least 97 languages with over a hundred different editions. The books have also been adapted numerous times into films (both live-action and cartoon), plays, and musicals.
