LSU Press, 1986. 1st Edition NAP . Hardcover. Good/Very Good+. Ah, a difficult book to describe so, I will break my self imposed rule against dribbling on endlessly in describing a book. Actually my opposition to long winded book descriptions relates more to those we find on line, with the book sometimes less than professionally described from a technical/traditional grading standpoint, and yet, appending, a 2000 word synopsis/book review. . . One can be too generous with ones opinions, I oughta know, OK off to the races. Book is a straight, very lightly used, x-library copy and so defaced in ways I will attempt to carefully enumerate. The jacket is rather a bookmans dream, fresh, unsoiled, newish, no library scars at all, some mild use scar, no tears. Now, the book, boards very bright, unbumped, spine straight, no cocking. Summary of library scars, 2" by 3" substantial abrasion to 1st paste-down---white paper residue left from pasted in/removed library date label, in 1/2" inch by 2" areas of first endsheet in two places--- last paste-down has a spotty, slender stripe of white paper and glue residue from library's jacket's reroval. Book is stamped (lightly and partially) as discarded and w/ library name at all three edges of text and as discarded FEP. Edges of text and endsheets newish except for scars noted. Regarding the books edition, my sense of it is that LSU has no systematic means of identifiction of "printings within an edition.". Notwithstanding which no second/lessser/reprint/states of issue, hardbacks versions of this item seem to exist so am quite confident it is a true first but always willing to be corrected. McBrides 6th says "N" for LSU, not correct for this one. NAP, price on flap 15.95. *We feel that books offered for internet sale should be described thoroughly and accurately.
