Preface and introduction by author, indexed, with a glossary of American terms and their equivalent Australian terms, as well as a dictionary of cooking terms. Illustrated throughout full-page colour photography with the emphasis on the food, and not ambience, the book is divided into traditional and holiday dishes, breads, salad dressings and relishes, a couple of luncheon menus (well 26, but who's counting) and 26 dinner menus. The instructions for preparation are detailed, and there is no sign of a calorie counter anywhere in the book. Photographic illustrated dust jacket shows a partially set table, with what looks like soup with dumplings, cucumber salad, latkes, boiled rolled brisket, challah, and chopped liver. No haute cuisine, simple honest cooking. Rubbing to the lower book edges, top book corners and top back strip corners. Age toning and a few stains to the text block edges with lighter age toning of the pages. There is a 2 inch chair to the top left-hand corner of the front panel and to tears to the top edge of the rear panel, both measuring 2 inches with creasing between the two tears.
