George Alfred Henty wrote 122 books over his lifetime and was best known for his historical adventure stories. His talent was discovered while writing home about his own experiences as a soldier in the Crimean War. Illustrator Wal Paget was the younger brother of Sydney Paget, illustrator of the Sherlock Holmes stories for Strand Magazine. Includes a summary flyer. 32 pages of Blackie & Son advertising.
