Good/no dustwrapper. 12mo. b&w frontispiece with tissue-guard Nicholson's sequel to Halek, with lengthy inscription by the author to prelims ""Ettie Baird with the author's kind regards Karom Cottage Virginia N.E. Line 9-3-11"", this being followed by a verse of poetry, also in the author's hand the text of which is difficult to decipher (appears to not be in English); Very Scarce with the author's inscription; Nicholson was the son of English scholar John Nicholson, he came to Australia at 16 where he worked as a teacher; prone to visions and eccentricities he wrote poetry and allegorical prose works, of which the best known are Halek and Almoni - the author intended to write a third novel 'Lirusan' to complete a trilogy, but incorporated this latter into Almoni; b&w frontispiece block of Nicholson with tissue-guard; original illustrated maroon wrappers with 'Almoni' in embossed white lettering, newly bound in red buckram boards with gilt titling to spine, new endpapers; med-heavy foxing to prelims, text block tanned, scattered foxing, original wraps edgeworn and rubbed, o.w. Good.
