Synopsis

Almost a Revolution is an autobiography by the Chinese student democracy leader Shen Tong, written with former Washington Post writer Marianne Yen. Written and published shortly after Tong escaped China following the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, the book is an inside account of the student movement from the perspective of a student leader. Tong was the organizer of the "dialogue delegation", which attempted to arrange negotiation between the students and the government.
