Cover has slight wear and soiling. Scarce item.. Tartakoff, Katy (Photographer), and Ullmann, LeRoy. Includes illustrations. Photographs are black and white. This work seeks to bring the lives of children and families with HIV infection to us. The book personalizes the impact of the disease and reached out to touch and teach the reader. Pictures of families are coupled with the voices of their words, and remind us of who we are and the mission of those who care for families and those who, through science, try to improve lives through new treatments and preventative strategies. From an on-line posting: "Lori Wiener, Ph.D., is co-director of the Behavioral Health Core and head of the Psychosocial Support and Research Program. As both a clinician and behavioral scientist, Dr. Wiener has dedicated her career to the fields of oncology and pediatric HIV/AIDS. She confirmed via e-mail that she participated in the preparation of this scarce early family impact of HIV/AIDS work.
