About This Item

Helsinki, Finland: Kunstannusosakeyhtio Otava Printing Works, 1994. Hardcover. Fine/Fine. 4to 11" - 13" tall. A fine introduction to the Finnish architect, designer and painter, born in 1898 and died in 1976, presenting nearly his complete works in a single volume. Sterling condition hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Handsomely bound in gray cloth over boards, with black stamped lettering (Aalto's name, in cursive) to cover, sharp and distinct black lettering to spine). Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, not price-clipped. Plentiful descriptions with illustrations of realized and unrealized projects, drawings, musings on urban and regional plans, interiors of churches, houses, theatres, libraries, studios, museums, offices, factories, residential and apartment buildings and other kinds of domiciles. But wait, there's more!: industrial and furniture designs: lighting, glass and glass jewelry, fashion, textiles, stage sets and designs. 317 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
