Following 'The Master of the Moon' (1952), this is the second Jock and Noel adventure, in which the two scientists are lured into a trap on a mysterious island near the North Pole.

Upper hinge starting. Moderate rubbing to cloth. Very good. Moore's very first sci-fi adventure for children.
