The text is illustrated with four inserts of four pages of colour photographs and the occasional black-and-white illustration within the text. Blue coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Rubbing to the book edges and a little to the book panels. Light browning to the text block edge with dust marks to the top text block edge. Writing to the top half of the free front end paper by previous owners. Photographic dustwrapper (wraparound), showing part of the Amazon River, with white, red and blue titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and a little creasing to the dustwrapper edges. A few marks to the laminate of dustwrapper. The story of navigating the Amazon river from its source in the Peruvian mountains through the majority of the length of the river. As well as the navigation of the river described it is also about the services, medical, dental and missionary, that were also given on the journey. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
