New Brunswick, New Jersey, USA: Rutgers University Press, 1964. BX3 - A hard cover first edition book in very good- condition with a dust jacket in good+ condition. A tight, clean, sound copy in light yellow cloth covered boards with black and red lettering on the spine with minor overall wear plus some light soiling on the front. The dust jacket is in good+ condition and is intact but has significant edge wear and chipping mainly on the top and bottom spine edges and right corners plus some edge wear along the top and bottom edges plus three small (about 0.25") closed tears on the front bottom edge and 3 on the back at the top left and top and bottom right corners plus a chunk (about 0.25"x0.75") missing at the back top right corner plus a triangular chunk (about 0.25"x0.5") missing at the top left corner. A very readable examination of how modern Italian novels, poems and plays deal with America and Americans. Overall it is a definitive study of the Italian myth of America and the ways modern Italian writers have expressed it in their work. Endnotes, bibliography, indexed, 278p.. First American Edition. Hard Cover. Good/Good. 5.75"x8.5".
