About This Item

Chicago: M. A. Donohue Oversized hardcover without dust jacket, undated (c1870s-1890s, certainly after 1860, the year of Goodrich's death as he is referred to on the title page as "the late"), xxii + unpaginated Table of Twelve Thousand Synonyms + 1,281 pages, plus Frontispiece drawing of Noah Webster and two colourful pages of national flags;---the title page also states "With an appendix of useful tables---", but these are lacking in this edition;---black pebbled cloth boards with faded embossed lettering "[illegible word] Webster's Unabridged Dictionary";---moderate wear to covers and spine ends, particularly to bottom, crude past regluing evident although overall tight in binding, low quality paper edges very age toned, somewhat less so inside, and 5-10 pages at each end are chipped along the edges, but pages very clean and unmarked, overall it ain't so pretty, but still a serviceable reading/working copy. [this copy priced low, priced to go to a good home as bookseller is nearing retirement, but extra S & H at cost will be requested] . Good.
