About This Item
New York, NY, U.S.A.: Macmillan, 1932. This is the first general history of American foreign relations with Mexico, written after the success of Ambassador Dwight Morrow's efforts to improve relations after two decades of contention; the author's attitude toward American policy is revealed in the preface: "Unfortunately, American foreign policy....has too often...assumed an attitude of superiority and of impatience with Mexican arguments and delays which have characterized an independent people groping toward nationality and political stability through long struggle...."; includes four maps (brown cloth with gold lettering, ends of spine slightly worn with small tear at bottom, previous owner's bookplate on front pastedown, pages slightly tanned; otherwise a good, clean, tight copy). First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/No Jacket.
