Hardcover first edition, published by Beaux Arts Editions, 1991. An in-depth analysis of 48 American Impressionist paintings. Works by the leading artists in the movement are included; Mary Cassatt, William Merritt Chase,Childe Hassam, John Henry Twachtman, Edmund Tarbell, Robert Reid, Thomas Dewing, Philip Leslie Hale, and several more. Each artwork has a full page devoted to a full color reproduction, with a full page critical essay accompanying it. Lisa Peters was Director of Research at Spanierman Gallery, and now is Professor American Art at City College, New York. 9-1/2" X 12", 119 pages with Index and Bibliography. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Sturdy dark blue cloth covered boards, with the title imprinted on the spine and front board in gold. Boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or creased. No wear to the boards, no edge wear. Not a remainder, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
