Undated 19th century hardcover as pictured. A beautifully produced book which has see considerable wear. Ex-library society with typical markings. Red cloth boards gold and black decorative stamping are soiled and rubbed with fraying at edges, corners and hinges. Front board is nearly detached and rear is partially detached. Gilt edge of text block. Text is tanned but clean and unmarked. A personal travelogue of an Englishman's journey around the United States which includes well over 100 beautifully detailed etchings of scenes from across the country.
