New York: Architectural Book Publishing Company, Inc, 1930. Hardcover. As New in clipped dustjacket. Bluish green gilt embossed blue cloth with pinkish printed dustjacket. 164 pp., many bw plates. The second volume of Sexton's two-volume survey of American theatre architecture. Volume One was published in 1927. This volume, which stands alone, is from 1930 and reflects the theatres of the day and brings the presentation forward from where Volume 1 left off. It contains chapters on many design and operational aspects of theatres of the period. Includes contributions by Armand D. Carroll (The Design of The Modern Theatre); Albert Douglas Hill (A Standard Method of Planning a Theatre); Harold W. Rambusch (The Decoration of A Theatre); Edward B. Silverman (Electrical Installation in the Modern Theatre); Edwin E. Newcomb (Theatre Acoustics); Edwin A. Kingsley (Heating and Ventilating a Theatre)Leon Fleischmann (The Theatre Owner and The Architect); Ben Schlanger (The Theatre of Tomorrow); Checking List for a Theatre; A Group of Typical Theatre Details; Photographs of Exteriors and Interiors, Plans and Sections of Modern Theatres (pp. 68-164).
