First Edition of this lavish centennial volume; measuring approximately 9 x 12”, and over 3” thick, weighing over 10 pounds; bound in full morocco, decorated in gilt and blind; all edges gilt; in superb condition with intact metal (brass?) clasps. For the most part, the illustrations depict eminent persons, places, and events. An old catalogue description tipped inside the front cover notes that this volume was issued at $100.00.
