Boston: Houghton Mifflin Co, 1910. green cloth decorated in gilt. Rogers, Bruce. 8vo. green cloth decorated in gilt. (viii), 278 pages. First edition designed by Bruce Rogers (Haas 88). A near fine copy. Ornament on title page. With two chapters on books; "The 100 Worst Books" and "The Convention of Books" in which a librarian falls asleep at a convention and finds himself at a convention of books, which speak and read papers. The typography is by the notable American book designer Bruce Rogers (1870-1957), who "was appreciated in his lifetime. In addition to several honorary degrees, in 1948 he was awarded a gold medal from the American Academy of Arts and Letters for distinction in the graphic arts. Over decades of accomplishment in which he designed approximately 500 books... Rogers literally defined the profession of book designing in the United States" (ANB). Francis Meynell stated that Rogers was."the greatest artificer of the book who ever lived

Other services such as UPS, air mail through the US Post Office and FedEx are available upon request. Foreign shipments are sent via USPS International Mail (either USPS First Class International Mail or USPS Priority International Mail, depending on package weight).
