"Rowlandson's bawdier works, depicted in the 50 plates in this book, are either ignored or subjected to pseudo-psychoanalytical surveys. In fact, they represent the sheer exuberance of sexual situations with an unrivalled humour that demolishes any suggestion that they might be obscene." - from the front fold over panel.
