Study of the Anasazi, a vanished people who have left remains of great cities in the plateau country of American Southwest. Anasazi is a Navajo term meaning "The Ancient Ones". The narrative is made all the more eloquent by photographs of David Muench of the awesome landscapes housing ancient dwellings at Mesa Verde, Canyon de Chelly, and Chaco Canyon, and those taken at an earlier date by Adam Clark Vroman.
