A facsimile reprint of the rare 1826 edition, including the original illustrations. Johann Gaspar Spurzheim (1776-1832) was a German physician who is best known as a popularizer of phrenology. Beautifully bound in gilt-decorated blue leather; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers. Black leather bookplate on front pastedown endpaper has the subscriber's name engraved and indicates that this volume is #645 of a limited edition of 1,000 copies. The book is in as-new condition. Laid in is a pamphlet of notes from the editors of "The Classics of Neurology & Neurosurgery Library" series.. First Edition Thus. Hardcover. Fine. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Book.
