About This Item
7 maps, 213 black and white illustrations and 39 color plates. Josef Mueller, of Switzerland collected art from Gabon before WW II. This West African country has produced powerful traditional ritual art that has inspired people like Pablo Picasso (who is pictured in the book). The book was published in conjunction with an exhibit, by the same name, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and The Dallas Museum of Art. The book is in fine condition: crisp corners, free of marks or discoloration. The dust jacket has very minor shelf wear.
