About This Item
Chicago, IL: Stephen Daiter Gallery, 2005 Book. As New. Hardcover. First Edition. 4to. Dust Jacket Condition: As New. 128 pp, Introduction by Stephen Daiter; Black-And White Plates and Essays by Curators, Colleagues, Friends and Collectors: Hungary 1914-24; Paaris 1925-36; New York 1937-85; checklist, references, essay index, and acknowledgments. Scarce Title. Limited to 1/900 copies. First Printing, 2005. "Published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name held at the Stephen Daiter Gallery Chicago (3/11- 5/28/2005). Beautifully printed on Mohawk Superfine paper by Meridian Printing Greenwich, the vintage images assembled here address Kertesz's visual sensibility and genius. Some of the photographs are classically familiar while others are refreshingly obscure. Each of the contributors had the opportunity to choose an image and either address it directly or write more broadly on the artist. Therefore, some essays relate closely to the justaposed image, while others use an image as a springboard to reflection." Not Price Clipped. Pristine, no wear. Clean, tight and strong binding with no underlining, highlighting or marginalia. Grey cloth with embossed signature of A. Kertesz on front board, and silver lettering to spine..
