William Strange, 1830. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1830. No edition remarks. 282 pages. Half bound brown leather with marbled paper covered boards. Contains ex-libris 'curse bookplate' of C J Peacock to front pastedown. Includes 4 engraved plates (including frontis). Plate depicting the Louvre, supposed to be opposite p53, is missing. Pages are mildly tanned with heavy foxing. Mild cracking to gutters, however binding remains firm. Heavy thumb-marking present. Notable water stain to front endpaper. Notable creasing to p.229-32. Droplet to p.65. Boards have notable edgewear with corner crushing and peeling, and heavy marking to boards. Mild sunning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Visible peeling to leather. Notable scuffing to edges. Chips and surface loss to rear board. Boards are notably warped.
