Edinburgh & London: William Blackwood & Sons, 1885. First Edition. Green Cloth. Very Good Plus/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾. N/a. xii, 340, 2 (ads.) pp. 1885. 12mo. A very good plus, clean, tight well preserved copy. Original publisher's green cloth - gilt embossed to the spine with a blind stamped vignette of a angler to the front board. Brown endpapers. Tissue-guarded frontispiece of the author. Four chromolithographic plates and 4 illustrations in the text - all as called for. The upper two board corners a little bumped or turned in. Some spotting to the front endpapers with some light spotting to the fore-edges - very scattered and very light elsewhere. A very fine, very slight split to the front inner hinge - extending just 2cm from the head. A few tiny speck marks to the rear board. A lovely, clean, tight very good plus copy.
