About This Item
Wm. Collins Sons & Co., Ontario. 1959. First Edition stated. 303 pages. The signed names of both the author and illustrator (Gordon Fairbairn) appear on the title page under their printed names. The green covers are in good condition, with mild bumping and color loss around the edges. Title and author in gold on spine. The dust jacket is quite worn and frayed, with noticeable loss especially along the top and bottom of the front and spine. The front end paper has 4-5 lines of writing crossed out with black marker along the top portion of the page. Otherwise, the interior pages are generally clean and bright with no writing. The 4 full-page color illustrations of fish by Fairbairn are in excellent condition (arctic grayling, brook trout, smallmouth bass, northern pike). The book also contains numerous black and white illustrations of many fish species.
