About This Item
Amstelodami: apud Petrum Humbert, 1733.. Hardcover. Good. Large quarto. Two volumes. 791pp. Stiff vellum; upper part of spine in volume two damaged. Lacks, as it often does, the engraved frontispiece. This is actually volume IV (in two parts) of a massive five-volume (in nine parts) bibliography of early printed books by Maittaire. Volume I was entirely dedicated to incunabula and was published in 1719 in one volume. Volume IV, although titled to indicate that books to 1546 were included, is a major expansion of volume one by several hundred pages (388 versus 791) and only lists books through 1500.
