About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1949. First edition (stated); "F-Y" on copyright page. Hardcover. Very Good+/Good. 5 3/8 x 7 1/2. Frontispiece drawing of Brooks by Ernest Alexander. 2F. Full cloth-covered boards, in dustjacket. A nice copy of this important book. Good binding with intact hinges and just a hint of separation at the bottom of the first few pages. No marks. Spine very sightly off square. Light smudging to cloth. Mild bump top edge near front corner. A little wear to cloth bottom edge and spine-ends. Binder's glue shadowing through endpapers at hinges. Mild toning to the paper. Dustjacket has unclipped price ($2.50) but bottom corner front flap is clipped; some wear, tear, chipping and creasing to the edges, including a large chip at the top of the front panel. Still quite attractive in its Brodart protector.
