Original red publisher's cloth illustrated in blue, silver foil and black, lettered in silver foil and black. Light wear to extremities; board illustration somewhat rubbed; ink date and ownership blind-stamp to front endpapers; light occasional soiling. LACKING one plate (p. 139), one plate loose. Verne's sequel to Edgar Allan Poe's The Narrative of A. Gordon Pym, published in 1838.
