About This Item

New York: Broadway Books, 2009. 290pp, plus 1 x 8 page (b/white and colour) illustrated section. B/white map. Book clean, square. White quarter spine firm, bright blue title there-on. Plain blue boards very lightly bumped on upper foredge corner of front panel. Leaves clean and unmarked. Colour illustrated dustjacket softly and minimally creased. From the jacket flap: "In 1985, when Robert Swan walked to the South Pole, the fragile polar environment was not foremost on his mind. But upon his return, the earth's perilious state became personal. Robert's ice blue eyes were singed a pale gray, a result of being exposed to the sun's rays passing unfiltered through the depleted ozone layer. Swan raises dire warnings in 'Antarctica 2041' - exponentially high greenhouse-gas levels, rising seas, massive species extinction - but he also says there is much we can do to avert looming disaster." Book weight approx. 560g. . First Edition. Hardcover and Dustjacket. Very Good+/Very Good+. 8vo - (approx. 24cm x 16cm).
