All page edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. Three ribbon bookmarks. Woodcut head- and tailpieces and initials. Printed in parallel columns of French and Latin. Undated French inscription on blank leaf following front free endpaper referring to Jeanne Durant of Clermont-l'Hérault. In Very Good Condition: leather is rubbed, most heavily at corners of back board; occasional foxing, heaviest in first 74 pages; otherwise clean and tight.

Author's photo on the frontis of this second of his three volume autobiography. The green cloth cover boards are showing some wear on the corners. The dust jacket in a mylar cover is unclipped and has some chips on the top and bottom of the spine. The binding is secure and the text block is clean, unmarked mildly foxed. There is an "A" and the publisher's colophon on the publication page. 187 pp
