About This Item
Washington, DC: National Park Service, 1961. Paperback. Small 4to. Stiff grey pictorial wrappers. 60pp. Numerous illustrations, 4 maps. Very good. Bookplate tipped to inside front wrapper. Revised later printing of the "National Park Service Historical Handbook Series No. 31" -- with a fine autograph addition: Tipped to the inside front wrapper is an Autograph Note Signed from Tilberg (1896-1979), 1p, 5" X 8", Teaneck, NJ, 1964 April 6. Addressed to noted Lincoln/Civil War scholar ARNOLD F. GATES (1914-93). Near fine. Tip to this Civil War Round Table of New York officer: "Please pass the enclosed to the proper committee for this doctor could well be a speaker for a meeting next fall...." Signed simply "Fred." (The "enclosed" is a tiny clipping stapled to the ANS discussing noted Lincoln scholar/collector Dr. John K. Lattimer.) DORNBUSCH IV, 1982.
