About This Item
Charles Scriber's Sons, 1896. Hardcover. Acceptable. Large and heavy book covering the Italian artists' life and work. 37 bookplates w/ tissue guards. Each of the large bookplates has had a small library stamp placed in lower corner of each. Many other illustrations. Volume belonged previously to the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha, NE. Green patterned boards with gilt titling are dirty and stained. Scraped along all edges of boards, with fraying to corner tips. Embossed library stamp on title page. Binding is split between pages 152/153, w/ larger crack at page 256. Age-toned pages, with light moisture "waves" throughout various portions of the book. Some pages have fingerprint smudges. 407 pages.
