Cleveland/New York: The World Publishing Company, (1957)., (1957).. Good. - Octavo, cloth in a dust wrapper. The binding is bumped & the edges of the covers are very slightly darkened with a small crease to the cloth of the rear cover. The dust jacket is rubbed & chipped with its spine faded & the edges of its rear panel & flaps darkened. 404 & [1] pages plus colophon. There is a very small area of soiling to the bottom edge. Good. <p>A review copy from the library of the New Yorker magazine, with a review slip mounted on the front endpaper and the magazine's stamp on the front pastedown. Fadiman was the book critic for the New Yorker. A nice association copy.
