About This Item

New York: D. Appleton-Century Company. Very Good+. 1941. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. B&W Illustrations; SIGNED EDITION. This book is in Very Good+ condition and is lacking a dust jacket. The book and its contents are in mostly clean, bright condition. The text pages are clean and bright. This copy has been signed by the author, with an inscription, on the half title page. (technically, this is an association copy as well, as the inscription by Jackson is to author L. Dennison and mentions his book Devil Mountain. ) The front endpapers have some light toning, especially to the edges. Laid-in are a group of newspaper clippings regarding the author, or this book. "Joseph Henry Jackson was born in Madison, New Jersey on July 21, 1894, and received his schooling in the East. After World War I he moved to California and began his literary career. He was associate editor and managing editor of Sunset magazine from 1920-1926, and editor from 1926-1928. In 1929 he became literary editor of the San Francisco Argonaut, and in 1931 he joined the staff of the San Francisco Chronicle, also as literary editor." (from Wikipedia); Signed by Author .
