FIRST EDITION. 8°, early dark green quarter morocco over marbled boards (considerrable wear), gilt spine with raised bands in five compartments(worn at head, defective at foot), marbled endleaves. Light foxing. In good condition. [iii]-xxiii, 145 pp., (1 l.). Lacks the half title. *** FIRST EDITION. Contains a long preface dated 23 December 1862. One of the subjects of these poems is "Shakspeare". Camilo [Ferreira Botelho] Castelo Branco (1825-1890, created 1.º Visconde de de Correia Botelho in 1885) was a novelist, playwright, poet and polemical writer - the most prolific author in the Portuguese language and the first to be able to live from the income of his writing. *** Santos, Revista bibliográfica camiliana 121.
