Claudious Galenus (131-201 AD), better known as Galen, was a Greek physician. His views on medicine would dominate Europe for over a thousand years. He lived in Rome for many years, and performed many vivisections of animals, wrote many works, and lectured extensively. He would also transmit Hippocratic medicine to modern times. In this work, Galen provides Hippocratic proverbs relating to health. This includes medical advice on disease prevention, and benefits of moderation in lifestyle.
