Early work on the anticipated uses for atomic power for the benefit of the human race. Includes sections on uranium, atom-splitting, a summary of the development of atomic energy, possible methods of concerting atomic energy into mechanical power (Sawyer's contribution to the work), and a summary of industrial benefits. Fine in dust jacket with some edegwear and shallow chipping along the top edge. R. Tom Sawyer was a pre-eminent mechanical engineer of his time; the ASME annually bestows an award in his name.
