About This Item

London, 1897. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Folio - over 12 - 15" tall. Very well produced and extensively illustrated (but short-lived) architectural journal. Curiously bound in two parts, with Volume II (1897, index and p.1-480) largely in the first. Remainder of Volume II (p.481-576) is in second book, followed by p.1-232 of Volume III (1898). This is particularly scarce and may be complete to cessation of publication. Thereafter is included part of Volume I (1896, p.467-560). The binder was J Andrew & Sons of 53 Dantzic St, Manchester, so I suggest you take this up with them. Or indeed with the owner of the two parts, noted architect Ernest Bower Norris, whose signature and attractive bookplate adorn the endpapers of both volumes. Occasional minor foxing, moreso to early and late blanks, and a little toning to page edges, but in general good order otherwise. Black cloth with gilt titling to spine, rather worn and marked front and rear. NB.Together books weigh nearly 6Kg so please enquire re postage. Folio.

About Dodman Books

Formerly Journobooks, my original speciality was books about journalism, journalists, newspapers and other media (hence the name) and I still have a good stock of hard-to-find books in that field. Over time I have added a wide and eclectic variety of other collectible volumes alongside a general secondhand stock. I am a collector as well as a seller so know all about the pitfalls of online buying as well as the joys. I will try to make your buying experience as easy and as pleasant as possible.
