About This Item
Childs & Peters, 1857 Bound in faded brown cloth,, 464 and 467 pp. A clean solid set but with a damp stain to the spines, primarily to Volume I. There are two title pages with the first being engraved. Frontispieces, tissue guards and first [engraved title pages foxed]. Also, mostly in Vol I the engravings have foxed borders affecting the tissue guards and facing pages. Volume II has light foxing to some of the plates. Map in volume I clean, bright, tight and free of tears or stains. But for the foxing, internally very good.
