The collection was edited by Ted Hughes and has an introduction by Robert Lowell. Plath believed her Ariel poems to be the best she had produced, "announcing to her mother that 'they will make my name'" (ODNB). Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. Pencil annotations to a few pages. Light foxing to edges and endpapers, front free endpaper neatly excised. A good copy, in very good dust jacket, spine panel a little faded with minor crease to head, short closed tear to foot of rear panel, couple of nicks and a small chip, small mark to front panel, a couple of light spots of foxing, else bright, not price-clipped.
