Keene NH.: J & J W Prentiss., 1830. Designed for Schools and Academies in the United States. Hard cover. Fair. No dust jacket as issued. Signed by previous owner. Pencil name, notes. Some pages Missing: fep front, ends at 264, into book-keeping section.. 1 306 p.; 19 cm. Leather spine, paper over sturdy boards, rounded rt. corners. At head of title: 'Adams's New Arithmetic'. Word problems presented here include Massachusetts interest tax law, as well as simple addition, division, etc. This volume is in sad shape, and possesses historic grime, but I would be much the same, if I were held together by strings, put to work most every day, and had been around school populations for 180 years. For the math historian, this is a curious reading copy.
